Day Two of IFAC Connect Features IPSASB Roundtable with Stakeholders

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – As part of the second day of the IFAC Connect Forum, hosted in Riyadh by the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) held a roundtable meeting with nearly 80 experts representing regulatory and professional bodies.

The discussions opened with an overview of the Board’s Work Program Consultations, followed by an open dialogue on regional priorities to be considered for inclusion in the program, as well as the potential addition of new topics reflecting the needs of the Middle East and North Africa region.

The roundtable also addressed Project Updates, with a focus on the current status of disclosures related to climate, natural resources, and financial statement presentation. Participants were encouraged to share their experiences and insights with the Board to help inform its forthcoming consultation paper and final outputs.

The meeting concluded with a shared emphasis on strengthening stakeholder engagement in the development of public sector accounting standards, as a key step toward meeting future requirements and advancing transparency in financial reporting.
