Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) hosted a regional roundtable meeting alongside the IFAC Connect Forum in Riyadh, bringing together more than 80 experts from IFAC, international standard-setting boards, regulators, government entities, professional accountancy organizations, and academia across the region.

The discussions highlighted IFAC’s global role in supporting professional organizations and driving the adoption of international standards. Participants, in turn, stressed the vital contribution of regional bodies in advancing standards adoption and called for closer collaboration to ensure that standards are effectively applied.
The session also featured IFAC’s latest report on the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA), outlining the main challenges facing professional and regulatory organizations in the region and exploring opportunities for deeper cooperation and stronger regional support.
