The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) has launched the “Murakhass” platform to advance the digital transformation of the professional licensing services provided by the Organization. The step aligns with Council of Ministers Resolution No. (571) dated 05-08-1446 AH, which transferred the authority to issue licenses for the following professions—accounting and auditing, financial advisory (non-securities), zakat and tax services, and accounting services—from the Ministry of Commerce to SOCPA.
This initiative is part of SOCPA’s efforts to regulate and develop the accounting and auditing profession and its branches, and to strengthen its role as the profession’s regulator by granting it full authority to issue professional licenses. It also supports the development and delivery of digital services that enhance the beneficiary experience.
“Murakhass” provides professionals with a package of digital services, such as submitting applications for licenses to practice and for renewals, in addition to a set of online services that enable license holders to manage their licenses and professional firms electronically, without the need to visit SOCPA branches.
