The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants celebrates 1973 accountants in the accounting excellence ceremony
On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants held the Accounting Excellence Ceremony for the those who hold the professional certificates for the year 2024 in the capital, Riyadh, at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, with the attendance of several dignitaries.
SOCPA celebrated 1,973 male and female accountants who obtained one of the professional accounting certificates; the Organization's Fellowship, Value Added Tax Specialist, Accounting Technician, Government Accounting and Auditing Training Track, and the Professional Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards, in addition to the new certificate launched by the Organization during the past year, which is the Financial Fraud Examiner Certificate. This celebration comes as part of the SOCPA's efforts to support and empower accountants to achieve 2030 vision's ambitions in the accounting and financial field, which will positively reflect on the Kingdom's economy.
During the ceremony, the final of International Student Competition for Accounting Case Study for the year 2025 was held. SOCPA and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) crowned the financial award-winning teams, and they are three teams out of 106 teams from various countries of the Middle East and Africa; The first place was won by a team from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and the second place was won by a team from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences from the Sultanate of Oman, while a team from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University won the third place.
During the ceremony, the Organization's latest publication, the “Detecting Accounting Fraud” Book, was launched. Success partners were also honored, as they are the universities with the highest percentage of graduates who have obtained a fellowship certificate. King Saud University won first place, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University won the second place, and King Abdulaziz University won the third place.
