The guidebook aims to clarify the concept of audit quality indicators and their role in evaluating and improving the quality of audit engagements, while highlighting the role of audit committees in monitoring and improving audit quality and making decisions based on clear and measurable standards.
The guidebook includes a set of suggested indicators that audit offices, audit committees and other stakeholders can use according to the nature of their work and operational conditions, emphasizing the flexibility of selecting relevant indicators.
This guidebook is considered a non-binding reference, and it does not replace the international standards for auditing or the international code of conduct and ethics.
