SOCPA Announces the 2025 Student Accounting Case Study Competition
The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), in collaboration with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), has announced the current edition of the "2025 Student Accounting Case Study Competition" for universities across the Middle East and Africa, as part of efforts to enhance knowledge in the field of management accounting.
SOCPA explained that the competition aims to analyze, evaluate, and encourage innovative solutions through teams of three to five members who present an accounting study analyzing cost-benefit analysis and data presentation for a case study centered around recruiting players from the National Basketball Association.
The organization noted that the competition offers several benefits, including grants to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam, in addition to valuable cash prizes for the winning teams. The first-place team will receive a prize exceeding 18,000 Saudi Riyals, the second-place team will receive more than 9,000 Saudi Riyals, and the third-place team will receive over 5,000 Saudi Riyals.
SOCPA confirmed that the deadline for registration and solution submission is Sunday, March 23, 2025. The initial evaluation phase for the submitted solutions and the selection of nominated teams will be announced on April 28, 2025, with the competition finals to be held in Riyadh during May 2025.
The organization outlined the competition's participation requirements, indicating that eligible students must be enrolled in full-time bachelor's or graduate programs (excluding PhD candidates), with graduate students comprising no more than 50 percent of team members. Team members must be from the same university or college, with a designated team leader and a faculty advisor from the same institution. Each college or university is eligible to select multiple teams consisting of three to five members.
It is worth noting that the Student Accounting Case Study Competition is being held this year, 2025, for the second time in collaboration between SOCPA and the Institute. To enhance analytical and creative skills, SOCPA encouraged interested students to invest in this valuable opportunity and strive to win one of the financial prizes offered.
