The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) General Assembly has appointed Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Almeghames, CEO of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), to serve on its board for a three-year term. The appointment underscores Saudi Arabia's growing international influence and recognizes its ongoing commitment to advancing the accounting and auditing profession, fostering professional collaboration, and promoting global knowledge exchange in the field.
 
With extensive experience in accounting and auditing, Dr. Almeghames has held key positions on various professional boards and committees at both national and international levels. Most recently, he was named Chairman of the Regional Partnership for Enhanced Sustainability Reporting for the Gulf region and neighboring Arab countries.
Expressing his appreciation, Dr. Almeghames extended his gratitude to the Minister of Commerce for his unwavering support and to the Kingdom's wise leadership. He noted that this appointment reflects the leadership's vision and dedication to elevating Saudi Arabia's global presence.
The selection, he added, demonstrates confidence in national expertise while highlighting the Kingdom's commitment to achieving both domestic and international objectives.  Dr. Almeghames emphasized that his board membership will help strengthen international partnerships and enable meaningful contributions across various sectors.
IFAC, The International Federation of Accountants, represents over 180 professional bodies across 135 countries and jurisdictions, regulating both public and private sector accounting practices.
