SOCPA and CIMA Sign Collaboration Agreement at Accounting Technologies Conference

 

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) signed a collaboration agreement on the first day of the Accounting Technology Conference in Riyadh, which runs from October 16 to 19, 2024.
 
The agreement aims to establish the Financial Leadership Program (FLP) to qualify candidates for the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation. CIMA will offer a special discount on the FLP for SOCPA members, providing a 20% discount for SOCPA Fellows and a 25% discount for other members, including non-CPA members and affiliate members.
 
Representing SOCPA at the signing was its CEO Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Moghames, while Mr. Barry Melancon, CEO of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and CIMA, signed on behalf of CIMA. Dr. Al-Moghames highlighted the importance of this agreement in empowering and supporting SOCPA members and Fellows as they work toward the CGMA designation, which he said would enhance their expertise and add a positive step in their professional journey. He added that this agreement is part of a series of collaborative efforts between SOCPA and CIMA.
 
Mr. Barry Melancon expressed his pleasure in signing the agreement with SOCPA, emphasizing its role in fostering a cooperative relationship and creating opportunities for mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise.
 
The agreement is set to remain in effect for three years from the date of signing, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the terms and conditions.
