SOCPA Participates in The World Standard-setters Conference

 

The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) recently took part in the annual International Standard-Setters Conference, hosted by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Representing SOCPA were CEO Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Moghames and Accounting Standards Board Chair Mr. Jihad bin Mohammed Al-Omari.
 
The conference agenda included updates on IASB's achievements over the past year, with insights into upcoming publications and consultations that will seek public input Key developments from the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) were also highlighted. In interactive sessions, attendees broke into small groups to discuss recent updates to International Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards, along with proposed enhancements. An additional focus was given to supporting the adoption of sustainability standards IFRS S1 and IFRS S2.
 
SOCPA’s Accounting Standards Board plays an active role in IASB’s initiatives, contributing technical insights on board projects and interpretation committee proposals. Notably, SOCPA is the official Arabic translator for all IASB publications available on the IASB website, reinforcing its commitment to international accounting standards within the Kingdom.
