Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-kassabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, on Wednesday evening August 31st 2022, SOCPA held a ceremony for the professional certificates holders for the years 2020 – 2021. It was titled "Our success is a story you can live" and was in the presence of a number of their Excellencies. The celebration began with a recorded video speech of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce, congratulating 1733 accountants for obtaining professional certificates in the Organization's Fellowship, Value-Added Tax Specialist and Accounting Technician exams, stressing the government support to the accounting profession as an important factor in the economy.
The joyful accounting ceremony was accompanied by the launch of a number of initiatives to support and empower licensed accountants and professional enablers, and to improve the accounting work environment to serve licensees, raise the efficiency of professional services, encourage and support the practice of the profession, also to develop effective community partnerships. During the event, the accounting curriculum was launched to contribute to graduating qualified national competencies and to fill the demand gap in the market, in addition to increasing the pass rates in SOCPA professional exams. The ceremony included the signing of an agreement between SOCPA and the Social Development Bank, as well as an agreement with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development with the aim of supporting licensed accountants with financing programs and enabling them to benefit from the self-employment program. Afterwards, a short film was shown on Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Humaid, may Allah have mercy on him, as an appreciation of his great contributions to the profession of accounting and auditing.
At the end, the CEO, Dr. Ahmed Al-Meghames, honored the recipients of the Excellence Award in the exams of Fellowship, Value-Added Tax Specialist and Accounting Technician.
