An exceptional number: 2939 applicants for SOCPA fellowship test in a couple of the Kingdom's regions

SOCPA fellowship test for the 2nd cycle of 2022 took place in the following cities (Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Makkah, Tabuk, Abha, Al-Majmaah, Al-Ahsa, Al-Madinah, Al-Kharj and Buraidah). The total number of applicants for the test reached 2939, including 1153 female applicants, which reflects the increasing interest of the country's young men and women in obtaining professional certificates, improving their skills, and achieving their career goals to develop their country and society.

SOCPA's Accountants Fellowship test is one of the most prominent professional tests that assess applicants’ competency in terms of theoretical knowledge and the ability to apply it skillfully, and measure the extent of awareness of professional responsibility and behavioral attributes. The test consists of five subjects: accounting, auditing, zakat and tax, jurisprudence of transactions, and commercial regulations.

The CEO of SOCPA, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Meghames, stated that the number of applicants for the fellowship test is increasing remarkably, according to the annual statistics since the first test in 1994 until today. This reflects the growth in the numbers of individuals interested in the accounting and auditing profession, and the appreciation that professional certificate has among practitioners and those who are interested in the field. It also shows the desire to improve professional qualification which is considered an added value for the young men and women of the Kingdom. Moreover, this contributes to achieving one of the most important objectives of the Human Capabilities Development Program within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 that is developed for the citizens to possess competencies that enable them to compete globally through value enhancement, basic skills improvement, and knowledge development.

It is noteworthy that the Human Resources Development Fund "HRDF" reimburses all professional certificates offered by SOCPA, which helps in supporting human personnel to assume leadership roles related to accounting and financial fields.
