SOCPA participates in the Thirteenth Annual Meeting of The Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group

SOCPA, represented by the Accounting Standards Committee, participated in the Thirteenth Annual Meeting of the The Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG), which was held remotely on the 24th of November 2021. 
Dr. Awad Al-Rahili, vice chairman of the Accounting Standards Committee, and Mr. Ihsan Makhdoom, member of the Accounting Standards Committee, were SOCPA's representatives at the meeting.
SOCPA's representatives laid out SOCPA's view on many subjects discussed in the meeting. They also did a presentation on the financial reporting on liquidation basis standard, which was recently adopted by SOCPA to fill the gap found in international standards in this particular area.
The presentation was well-received by the participants. The president of the International Board expressed the interest of the Board in the topic and requested a copy of the standard, which was provided to him after it was translated into English.
